News!

7/6/01 Released OMIGGv0.1.3. It helps to cleanup the port to CS0.18 and it reimplements some of the menu work through CSWS. I never got around to uploading the heavy version of OMIGG v0.1.3, sorry about that. Development will be slow this summer due to a job at a lodge in the Sierras. There is a chance that I might not get around to uploading OMIGGv0.1.4 heavy due to a connection of 26.4 kbps connection.

4/23/01 Completed port to CS0.18 as OMIGG v0.1.3. It isn't perfect, but good enough. Hopefully that will be remedied

3/17/01 Sorry that it has been a while since I have updated. I have been working on porting the latest code to CS v0.18. There is an email address change again (sorry). It is now nerdbert@yahoo.com

11/11/00 I have cvs working and the code is up there.Added more links to the Development notes. I also added those links to the links page. Once I fix a couple of bugs, I will make another release. I will finally seperate the source out into smaller files. The reason for an actual release and not just a CVS update is because I have done some big internal changes.

9/30/00 Ok. I have been trying for the last month or so to get CVS working. I have tried WinCVS and the command line. I have followed all of Sourceforge's HowTo's/Guides, tried the discussion board, and I am now asking in the Support Manager. So I don't waste any more time, I will start programming again, and will work on CVS whenever there is a development. There has been a lot of lost programming time from this, and I wasnt to get those changes. CVS is now more of a priority then code still, though. So I have not abandend CVS, I am just waiting for an update.

9/8/00 I am finally releasing the fixes to the last release. This fixes most of the major problem in v0.1.1. This release is deamed v0.1.2 because I thought it wasn't ready to increment the middle value yet. It should go up soon. This also marks the time that I actually will try and get CVS working. Here is the download of the new release of OMIGG. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at hand
Sorry for such a late release. I have been expecting to install Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 "Joel 'Espy' Klecker" (unofficially Potato) for some time, and got rid of my Linux install too early. One of my CD's was bad, so I downloaded a new image on a 56k modem. So that delayed work even longer. Hopefully development will speed up compard to what it has been lately. I also might start testing releases under Windows, BeOS, FreeBSD, and QNX RtP because I am going to try and have as many as them installed as possible :)

7/31/00 I finished v0.1.1. This version fixes bugs from previous versions, has physics finished, and gets alternate views done. There are some pretty bad bugs though, that cause seg faults. They happen about ~50% of the time under certain situations. This should be the last release in v0.1.X unless there is a bug fix release. Here is the download of the new release of OMIGG. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at

7/21/00 Development has slowed down a little bit. I have mostly been trying to fix bugs. I did get physics working through a change. So once I fix a certain bug, I will release v0.1.1.
On a side note, I have made this site nearly HTML 4.0 compliant. There is just a small little catcher in my use of frames that I haven't figured out. I have added a link to the Any Browser Campaign at the bottom. It is vital to the design of the net to remain platform indepandent. As some are finding out, pages are starting to turn out to only work in Internet Explorer based IMHO on lazy and irresponsible web authors. I hope to get HTML 4.0 compliance, and place the logo for it on this site. In the meantime, this site should work with any browser since the only modern feature I use is CSS, and I try and use it in moderation.

7/10/00 I finished v0.1.0. This version fixes bugs from previous versions, starts on physics, and gets alternate views almost done. Here is the download of the new release of OMIGG. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at
I also have made thsi web site a lot closer to being HTML 4.0 compliant. I am not quite there unfortunetly.

7/3/00 I finally finished what I wanted for v0.0.09. Hopefully this will be the last in the 0.0.X series. Here is the download of the new release of OMIGG. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at

7/1/00 I am back from camping. Crystal Space v0.16r1 and then v0.16r2 have been released. I will comense the port immediatly. It should be included in OMIGG v0.0.09

6/20/00 Updated parts of the website. I just want to review v0.0.09, and then I will release. I think the next version is going to be in the 0.1.x series

6/16/00 Sorry. I released OMIGG v0.0.08 a lot earlier then I should have. The next release(0.0.09) will fix a lot of those problems. Please ignore v0.0.08. I should soon release v0.0.09 and get CVS working. It might be a little longer for our own model to get working. I am amazed that 12 people have downloaded OMIGG without a release being annouced. This means we have people actually folowing our progress. Cool.

5/31/00 Sorry this took so long, but here it is, a new release of OMIGG. This is 0.0.08. Get it at our downloads page. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at our sourceforge page
This version is getting very close to a playable state where you can at least kill and be killed. When the last changes are finished it will be like any other shooter until then add in extra rule sets for it to be (OMIGG is) Multiple Implementations of Game Genres. Soon I will be adding are own model to use. I should also start up CVS and the BeOS port now that this release is out
I might of uploaded this file in binary mode, so PLEASE tell me if the Tar/Bzip2 doesn't work/

5/8/00 Slight website changes. I tried to make it easier for navigating within SourceForge and out site. I plan to make the release soon. I have meet almost all my requirements. I also started on weapons and stuff.
As part of the site changes I might also change the color scheme, because I haven't been to happy with this one.

4/14/00 IMPORTANT: Changed email address due to some problems. It is now cubesoft@techieguy.com . I don't know how much longer I will look over the old address's messages.
Woops, I didn't realise I took off the intro paragraph to Cubesoft. I did a quick one just now
Added a screenshot to the OMIGG page

4/12/00 I'm sorry for those that I told I would have amde a release a week or two ago. I thought it was going to be quick and simple, but I ran into one REALLY annoying problem. Oh well, looks like I will miss the release for the one year coding aniversry. Also things have come up. First there was the free release of BeOS, then I got StarOcean 2 for playstation, and now I have Final Fanatasy 8 for PC. I will try and prioritize for development first, but those games . . .
This release has KeyBindings, the CS 0.15r2 port and many more. The next release will be heavy work and sprites and basic game play. After this release I am really going to try and get CVS working, really.

2/26/00 Golly, did really make my last post that long ago. Well, Since CS 0.15r2 was realeased, I decided to port the code to support that version. The reason, I WANT ASSEMBLY SUPPORT. Nothing TOO selfish :> The port is almost done. I jus have to fix the consoel stuff(I Hope). I have no clue whats wrong with the code for differect perspectives. It is not too much of a priority right now though. I really want to finish the port and get key bindings going. Thats is when the next release will be. Hopefull within the month.

1/29/00 OMIGG is having camera changes so that it will support the different camera modes(Fist Person, Bird Eye, and 3rd Person). Also support for OMIGG's own screen widget's is being added to make MenuInterface more configurable, and be able to be used for the in game display. I have not gotten CVS working for 2 reasons.

1)I want to finish with the base code to make it easier for multiple people to work on it at once.
2)I am lazy.
Reason 2 is more prominant. I am still willing to accept code. I want code. I will eventually get it going. Sorry.

1/17/00 New release of OMIGG. This is 0.0.07. Get it at our downloads page. Changes here. Check bugs and tasks at our sourceforge page
